"Apologize to Boko Haram for the murder of their leader" - Pastor Tunde Bakare to FG

Pastor Tunde Bakare, vice-presidential running mate of General M. Buhari in the 2011 presidential elections has said come up with a genius idea to end terrorists’ activities in the country as perpetrated by the Islamist militant-Boko Haram. He suggested that the federal government apologise to the group over the killing of its leader, Mohammed Yusuf in 2009.
Bakare of the Latter Rain Assembly said this while addressing the state of the nation at a church in Lagos.
“The summary execution of the Boko Haram’s former leader, Mohammed Yusuf in 2009 provided the soil of martyrdom for the nurture and growth of the sect. Government must declare peace first of all; apologising for the murder of Mohammed Yusuf to the sect members, not their sympathisers or bandits,” he said.
Peace is always a good thing and if apology will end this madness, I have nothing against it. However, what happens to the many innocent people that this same group have murdered unjustly? Who will apologise to them and can any apology bring them back? Their mass killings can never be a justification for anything. Their leader was just one life although equally important. But they have killed scores of people and destroyed properties. What is even the guarantee that the apology will stop them? Anyway, I’m simply commenting and I don’t do politics.

Remain happy and spread happiness around. Xoxo.
