Another victory: Nigerian military troops captures T-55 armored tank from Boko Haram

Happy people, I don’t know if many of you know this but Nigerian military has been taking the lead in the fight against Boko Haram insurgents recently. They have reportedly killed a lot of the insurgents and several others have surrendered to them as well. This is good news I must say! I am just concerned though, why are they gaining sudden victory now that elections are around the corner? Anyway, I shall say no more.
In recent and other news according to SaharaReporters, Nigerian military have recorded another victory over Boko Haram insurgents. They were able to prevent the Islamic sect from causing more havoc in Konduga, Borno State. According to reports, they captured a T-55 armored tank and highly sophisticated armored personnel Carrier (APC) from the insurgents. "The sheer power of the tank surprised us. And the tank has camouflage painting that made it blend with the area in a way that it could not have easily been detected by Nigerian jets flying over the area," said a military officer.
Hmmm! It surprises us too o and the questions Nigerians are asking are, how did they acquire this sophisticated weapon? How was it brought into the country? If you ask me na who I go ask?
Anyway, remain happy and spread happiness around. Xoxo.

#ILOVENAIJA: Tricks petrol stations, attendants use to steal money from customers

I know no one wants to read a long story but trust me this is will be beneficial. I have refused to summarize the story because I want you to read the full details. If you own a car in Nigeria or buy fuel for any other purposes, you might want to really read this. It is shocking how people think that cheating is the way to success. We all go to buy petrol and right before our eyes, the attendant is cheating us without our knowledge. Please the next time you drive into a garage / petrol station, be extra attentive.
Read the full story below as reported by Punch
Mrs. Bisola Ayeni, a businesswoman in her early 40s confidently left her house at Egbeda (Lagos) with an almost empty tank heading for Ikeja. The red light of the fuel indicator was blinking nonstop but Ayeni knew the quantity of fuel in her tank would take her to the next available filling station where she had hoped to fill up her tank. Indeed, as she got to the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway, Ayeni drove into the filling station and told the attendant to fill her car with N5,000 worth of fuel while she rummaged her handbag to bring out the money as well as pick a call. That was her undoing.

Photo of the day: what PortHarcourt - Enugu expressway looks like

Happy people,  I apologise for my absence. It's been really hectic with my academics as it's the final stretch. But anyway, I still have to find time to share important information and today's one is this picture that I just found on twitter.
The above picture actually depicts what a major road in Nigeria looks like and I find it quite disappointing. I read a couple of days ago that Nigeria is celebrating independence and I really don't know what to make of that. Is there really anything worth celebrating about Nigerian independence if the country has this type of road? I am just saying but anyway, what do I know about independence celebration? Hopefully one day e go better like we've been taught to say while things keep going wrong.
Please remain happy and enjoy your weekend. Xoxo.

Boko Haram insurgents surrender to Nigerian troops

Barely a day after five members of Boko Haram group surrendered to Nigerian troops, 10 other Boko Haram members also surrendered to Nigerian troops yesterday September 21st at Kawuri in Borno state.
This is really some great news about this Boko Haram battle. I hope they all surrender soon and peace is restored to Nigeria.

Please remain happy and spread happiness around. Xoxo.

Death toll at synagogue building collapse rises to 115 - South African minister

I am not sure when we will stop having conflicting reports in the news but I am gono post this anyway. According to South African minister, Jeff Radebe today Sept. 22nd, the death toll from the Synagogue building collapse has risen to 115. The minister stated this at an airforce base, North of Johannesburg in South Africa where 25 South Africans injured in the collapsed building were brought home for treatment. He also maintained that 84 South Africans unfortunately died in the tragedy.
"We understand from our assessment team that the total number of people who have perished is now 115, but those are not all South Africans. South Africans are about 84 that have died" Jeff Radebe told reporters.
Meanwhile, the Nigerian Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, put the death toll from the collapse at 86. Now what exactly is true?

Shocking: 25-year old man arrested in Ogun state for rapping a 3-year old girl

I will never understand what makes us as humans do the things we do. This is such an unsettling story. According to reports, 25-year-old Kayode Akanni has been arrested by men of the Ogun State Police Command attached to the Ayetoro Division for raping a three -year- old girl, Punch reports.
While parading the accused before the press, Muyiwa Adejobi, the state Police spokesman said Kayode had tricked the little girl into his room only to forcefully have sex with her. Adejobi added that the parents of the 3-year old reported Kayode when they discovered damage on their child’s private part and the little girl named him as the cause of the damage.
Like seriously? A 3-year old though? People really need to learn how to control their body members.

Anyway, please remain happy and spread happiness around. Xoxo

Oh dear! generator fumes wipes out an entire family in Lagos [see graphic photos]

Oh dear! This is simply unbelievable. Stories like these really unsettle me. This is the sad reality of many Nigerians. According to reports, an entire family has been wiped out after inhalation of fumes from a generator which was kept in their room in Ipoyewa community of Ikorodu, Lagos. The bodies of the family consisting of a man, his wife and three children were discovered by neighbours last Friday September 12th in their home. According to neighbours, the man bought the generator just two days before the unfortunate incident and was afraid it will be stolen if left outside so he kept it inside his 2-room apartment.
The horror was discovered by a concerned neighbour who peeped through the window after the family failed to come out late Friday morning. They broke down the door to discover the horror. I am still terrified after seeing these pictures. Please be warned, the photos are really graphic.
Residents of the community who are blaming the family's deaths on lack of power in the area claim the last time they had power supply was three years ago. They said they have called on the government many times to help them with light but their efforts have yielded no fruit.
The government really needs to do something about power supply in Nigeria. People can’t keep losing their lives in this horrible manner. See more pictures after the cut and please be warned, it is extremely graphic...

Anyway, please remain happy and spread happiness around. Xoxo

"I couldn't believe my eyes"; hard work does get rewarded

I haven’t written anything for such a long time and that is not because I have forgotten how to write or I don’t have what to write about, I have just been overwhelmed with academic work. However, I just couldn’t help writing today because of how I feel. I really need to share this story with the world so my academic work can wait for just a few hours.
I was having breakfast this morning and preparing to leave the house for varsity when I received a life changing email. I heard the phone beep and I checked. It was an email. I almost did not open it because I thought it was one of these promotional messages that I receive every morning. I opened it anyway and it read, “Dear Miss Umana, it is with great pleasure that I inform you that you have been awarded …” (I know you would love me to complete the sentence but I’d rather save it for later) I couldn’t believe my eyes; my heart was beating faster than anything I can think of. I was elated and screamed so loudly that I almost lost my voice.

A deadly multiple accident occurred on Lagos-Ibadan expressway this morning killing about nine persons including a child.
According to eyewitnesses, the accident involved two Mazda cars and a Petrol tanker which immediately busted into flames after they collided. Men of the Nigeria Fire Service, Police and FRSC are currently at the scene managing the situation. The fire has since been put out but the traffic is still said to be on a standstill.
This is such sad news. My heart goes out to the family and friends of all those involved in this unfortunate occurrence.

Photo of the day: the reality of an average Nigerian

Wow! This is unbelievable but sadly the reality of Nigerians. I have a dream and believe that one day, things will get better. I am not sure if any of the political parties can or will bring this change but like I always say, I don’t have time for politics.
Anyway, as for now, please remain happy and spread happiness around. Xoxo

"Fed. Govt. denies hiring Stephen Davis as Boko Haram negotiator"?

Who is deceiving who in this Nigeria? “FG has denied claims by Australian hostage negotiator, Stephen Davis, that he was hired by the Nigerian Government to negotiate for the release of Chibok girls”. This is what I just read and I'm amazed. Hang on a second, if the federal government did not hire him, then who did? The news in Nigeria can be very confusing. One moment they are hiring a negotiator and the next moment they are not. What or who do we believe? Do they just like confusing the citizens or what?

Oh my! Rita Dominic is flawless in photos for Zaron Cosmetics

Rita Dominic, the stylish nollywood actress looks simply breath-taking in these photos I must say. She is simply flawless! See more photos after the cut...

"SON & Fake Products" - Etcetera

I always look forward to this guy's articles because they get me going. Happy people, I hope you are enjoying your weekend. I bring you an interesting read from Etcetera on Nigeria and fake products. Enjoy the article below...

I am sure every Nigerian must have at a point rained curses on the Standard Organisation of Nigeria for its failure to fulfil its statutory duties to forestall the importation and local manufacture of fake and substandard products. And I can also bet that no Nigerian businessman or woman would accept blames for the substandard products in their shops. So who’s to blame for the ridicule the nation is subjected to as a result of fake products?

An emotional Ali Modu Sheriff breaks down as he attempts to dissociate self from Boko Haram [photos]

Aww Alimodu Sheriff, former Borno state governor went all emotional and couldn’t help breaking down in tears during a press conference in Abuja in a desperate attempt to disassociate self from Boko Haram. Sheriff was named by Australian negotiator Stephen Davis as a major sponsor of the sect. He ferociously denied this accusation at the press conference.
What can I say? In Nigeria one cannot really be sure of these things.
Anyway, please remain happy and spread happiness around guys. Xoxo

"We are raped and molested by our own children" - Imo Christian mothers cry out

Christian Mothers in Mgbishii, a rural community in Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area in Imo state are desperate for help regarding the terrible situation they live in.
According to Vanguard, the women are complaining of lack of security and the fear they have to live in every day because of the alleged crimes committed by their children in the community.
"We are raped and molested by our own children. You cannot come to Mgbuishii and return home safely because of the crime rate" the women said.
The women claim they have complained to the state government and other agents about the high rate of crimes committed by their children but their complaints have fallen on deaf ears.

Photo of the day: #BRINGBACK becomes election campaign slogan

Hmmm what a nice use of intertextuality! The #bringback slogan which is associated with the kidnapped Chibok girls' “#bringbackourgils” protest has now become a political slogan. I just love Naija. We recycle and reuse anything popular in order to access the public.
The slogan is now used for Johnathan’s campaign but no, Johnathan is not missing he simply wants to be brought back for a second term. I reserve my comment on this and will only laugh. Do you guys think this is an appropriate slogan for him?
Please remain happy and spread happiness around. Don't forget to protect yourself and your loved ones from Ebola virus. Xoxo. See another photo after the cut

Woman dragged to Lagos court for jilting lover

Relationship drama can be so interesting to read! I think being single is the best thing that can happen to anyone in this life. When you are single, drama just stays away from you; there’ll be no one to drag you to court just because you have decided to end the relationship. Anyway, it seems some people can’t help being single and sometimes they get unfortunate like 43-year-old events planner, Omolola Shittu who is being accused by ex-lover of stealing. Omolola denies claims of stealing from him, saying that she is just dealing with his pain because she ended her affair with Unachukwu. Read her detailed account as reported by Vanguard after the cut…

Snakes Invade Fed. Govt. Girls' College Hostel in Akwa Ibom State

Snakes invade college dormitory! I’m not sure why the federal government pays very little attention to education in Nigeria. Public schools’ buildings are in a state and one wonders how anyone can even learn in such an environment. I really respect the students who still manage to excel academically in spite of these harsh circumstances. I just read about this now and it’s really disturbing. I attended this school and the situation wasn’t this bad but clearly, it has deteriorated. I hope that the authorities do something about this because not everyone in Nigeria can afford to send their kids to private schools. I think every child has the right to a decent education free of snakes. Read the story after the cut as reported by Punch online
