"The Celebitchy" - Etcetera gives his take on the famous Omoni Oboli's blue dress

Happy people, Etcetera has given his take on the famous blue dress nollywood actress/producer wore to the presidential villa for her movie premiere and I have decided to share the article here. I heard the actress apologized and said she didn't know the dress was revealing. Hmmm she probably doesn't have a mirror but what's my own. Anyway, read the article below. Have a great weekend and remain happy dearies. Xoxo...
The article:
Remember Monica Lewinsky? If you do, then you should also remember the “Blue Dress” she wore to the white house that got President Clinton, the most powerful man in the world and the then president of the United States of America almost impeached. And 16 years on, just when everyone thought the seductive blue dress has been locked away in a highly secured vault somewhere at the pentagon; it reared its dangerous head at Nigeria’s presidential villa, worn by a nollywood actress for her movie premiere. Only this time, it was seductively patterned as a strip wear.

New case of Ebola reported in Nigeria as greedy doctor dies of virus in Port Harcourt

I was excited that Nigeria has contained a virus but today's reports reveal the contrary as a new case surfaces in Port Harcourt. A doctor who secretly treated a diplomat, who met with late Patrick Sawyer in Lagos, has died from the virus. Apparently, the doctor was secretly treating the diplomat in a hotel in Port Harcourt. The diplomat survived the virus but the doctor has reported died and the wife is currently ill. His greedy act has also led to about 70 people being quarantined. The hospital, Good Heart Hospital and the hotel has been shut down.

Nigeria defeats Ebola, just one case left - Health Minister

Qingdao Takes Strict Precautions Against Ebola Virus
There seem to be some victory over Ebola for Nigeria and hope for Nigerians. According to the Minister of Health, Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu, the situation seems to be under control as the number of Ebola cases has been successfully reduced to just one.
Addressing newsmen today August 26th in Abuja, Prof. Onyebuchi said only one patient is still at the Isolation center in Lagos. Out of the thirteen confirm Ebola cases, five of those infected died while seven responded to treatment and were discharged.
This is really interesting news. I can now breathe and stop worrying about my friends and family members. Hmm maybe I can also consider homecoming. But let’s hope that tomorrow’s headline won’t say “presidency denies the reports that Ebola virus has been successfully contained”. In Nigeria, anything can happen.
Anyway, for now read the minister's statement below and let’s have some faith…

Ebola: Zmapp works for an American doctor but not a Liberian doctor as he dies of virus

Happy people, so according to reports, the famous Ebola experimental drug Zmapp that saved American doctor’s life could not save a Liberian doctor’s life. The National Deputy Chief Medical Doctor in Liberia, Abraham Borbor, who contracted the deadly virus while attending to Ebola patients at the John F. Kennedy Medical Centre in Monrovia, has died from the virus despite taking the experimental drug, Zmapp.

Photos from University of the Western Cape Golden Key International Honour Society New Member Ceremony

The University of Western Cape Golden Key International Honour Society welcomed its new members in a grand style on Tuesday August 19th, 2014. Golden Key is a society that recognises and honours academic excellence.
Yours truly was there to support and welcome my new friends to the family and yeah we took some pictures which I have decided to share. Academic excellence should be celebrated because it’s not easy to be a top student. You can read more about Golden Key on www.goldenkey.org and stay inform. Remain happy and spread happiness around. Oh no! See graphic photos of what madam did to househelp in Abuja

Oh no! Someone needs to wake me up pleaseeeee. This is so sad. How can a person in her right senses do this to someone's child in the name of discipline? I am so disturbed by this image.
Happy people, I just read about this wicked and babaric act now. Apparently, a woman in Gwarimpa area of Abuja asked her househelp (domestic staff) to sit on a burning electric cooker because she allegedly urinated in bed. The little girl was rushed to the hospital with this damage. I hope that this woman is made to pay for this act. I don’t think she deserves to live among humans. Happy people, what would you do if someone did this to your child, sister or anyone? More photos after the cut...

WAEC Failure: who is to blame for poor performance of students?

Happy people, I have been reading different things online about how poorly Nigerian students did at WAEC this year. The first thing that came to my mind was, how won't they fail when they don't even have a good learning environment and enough support to excel academically?

Chibok girls' parents lose hope on missing children, seek closure of case

Parents of the kidnapped Chibok school girls said they want the case closed since the search for the girls has not produced any tangible result.
The parents seem to have given up any hope of being reunited with their children again. They also believe that the girls are no longer alive and as a result, have urged the federal government to bring the girls’ corpses for honourable burial.

#ILOVENAIJA: have a laugh plsssss

Embedded image permalink
Happy people, when you have too many problems and you are Nigerian, all you really need to do is laugh about it. I have been having a laugh all evening because of the things I read on social media about Nigerian. Well since I love sharing happiness, I thought I should share this with you.

What can you do about the situation of Nigeria than laugh? Girls have been missing for over three months now, we are battling boko haram, people are suggesting the creation of more states, you travel by air and arrive at sea and the list goes on. Please laugh about it and remain happy. Xoxo.

Photo of the day: Passengers swim through Enugu "international" aiport

Embedded image permalink
Oh no! I am going crazy. Yes you read the headline right. At first glance it looks like a seaport and then the stationed flight in the picture convinces you that it is actually an airport.
Unfortunately this is what an airport in Nigeria looks like. Nigerians have renamed it Akanu Ibiam floating international seaport, oh sorry, airport (lmbo).

Passengers literally have to pull their shoes, fold their trousers and swim through the flood. I weep for Naija. Isn't it better to just go by boat to Enugu than by plane? Hehehehe there is nothing I shall not see in this Naija!

South Africa issues travel ban for non-citizens from Ebola-hit Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia

In order to reduce the spread of the deadly Ebola Virus Disease (EVD), South Africa has imposed a travel ban for non-citizens from Ebola-hit countries which include Sierra Leone, Liberia and Guinea.
If Nigeria did this earlier, we would have probably saved all the lives that we have lost so far. But what can I say? Happy people, what do you think about this ban? Remain happy and spread happiness around. Xoxo.

"Pay back the money!" Chaos in SA parliament as EFF MPs demand accountability from President

OMG! I wish we had a party like this in Nigeria; the amount of corruption would have definitely reduced. Julius Malema and his fellow MPs could not be controlled as they demanded that President Jacob Zuma paid back the money he received for Nkandla upgrade.
The speaker ordered them to leave when the MPs began shouting "pay back the money!" in reference to the upgrade of President Jacob Zuma's Nkandla homestead but they refused to leave. Proceedings were suspended until they had been removed.

Photo: National CONFAB delegates propose New Map for Nigeria

image
Happy people here is what the new map of Nigeria will look like if approved by the Presidency. Additional 18 states have been added to the already existing 36 states. If approved, Nigeria will have 54 states. I really wonder if what the country needs to move forward is the creation of new states but it is Nigeria. What do you guys think? The following are the proposed new states;
Katagum from Bauchi,, Apa from Benue, Savannah from Borno, Edu from Niger,

Five new suspected cases of Ebola Virus reported in Lagos

Ebola
The Lagos State Government revealed on Tuesday, 19th August that it has received additional five new suspected cases of Ebola Virus Disease (EVD).
According to the Lagos State Commissioner for Health, two of the fresh suspected cases are secondary contacts while the remaining three are primary contacts with late Patrick Sawyer.
The new suspected cases have increased the number of patients in isolation wards from two to six.

So sad! Dr. Ameyo Stella Adadevoh dies from Ebola Virus in Lagos

Aww this is really sad. I am actually in tears. Dr. Ameyo Stella Adadevoh one of the doctors who treated late “crazy” Patrick Sawyer, the Liberian who imported Ebola virus to Nigeria has unfortunately lost the battle with the deadly virus. She died yesterday 19th August at Mainland hospital, Yaba, where she has been undergoing treatment for the disease. Dr Ameyo is survived by a son and her husband Mr Ameyo.

#ILOVENAIJA: political aspirant begs for votes on his knees

#Ilovenaija! This is what political ambition reduces grown men to. They will do anything to win elections. One begins to wonder why they are so desperate to win. Sir, I've got one question for you: what will you do differently should you win?

Ebola: "Four more patients discharged from isolation center in Lagos" - Health Minister

It seems Nigeria has everything under control regarding this Ebola. I am glad that we are recording more recoveries and not more deaths.
According to reports, four more patients have been confirmed clean and discharged from the Ebola Isolation center in Lagos after being treated for the deadly disease. The four discharged include, two male doctors, the nurse who escaped from the isolation center to Enugu and a female patient who was on admission at the time Patrick Sawyer was hospitalized at the First Consultant Hospital.
The Minister of Health, Prof Onyebuchi Chukwu disclosed the news in a statement released today by him and signed by his Special Assistant on Media and Communication, Mr. Dan Nwomeh. Find the statement after the cut...

First Nigerian Ebola patient declared fit, discharged from quarantine center in Lagos

EBOLA ABUJA
Happy people, this is the latest in the news. The Nigerian Minister of Health Professor Onyebuchi Chukwu has declared the first Nigerian Ebola patient fit and has been discharged from the quarantine unit of the Emergency Operation Centre of Mainland Hospital, Yaba, Lagos.
In a press briefing on Saturday, Chukwu said that the patient who contracted the virus from Liberian-American Patrick Sawyer, was asked to go home after all the necessary medical examinations revealed she was free of the virus. She was the first doctor to be infected with the virus.

Are we entertainers socially irresponsible? - Etcetera writes

Happy people, here is something interesting to read. I love this guy and everything he writes about. I know that some of you might think it's too long but you got to love reading. Anyway, enjoy your weekend and remain happy. Xoxo.
I got a call on Wednesday morning from one of our popular female artistes asking if she could be a guest on my radio show to promote her new album that is meant for release this month. I said, “Why not? It will be my privilege to have you on my show.” As we talked on, I tried chipping in a little advice that it might not be a good idea releasing an album in the middle of an ebola crisis; suggesting that right now people might be too worried and preoccupied with the ebola scare to care about a new album. I told her she would stand the risk of being branded insensitive for dropping her album at a time the country is having a crisis of some sort.

"Experimental Nigerian Ebola drug "Nanosilver" a pesticide" - U.S

On Thursday 14th August, “Experimental drug expected in Nigeria today” was the major headline flooding newspapers in Nigeria. I was excited that finally there was good news about Ebola treatment.
However, according to recent reports, the U.S. is claiming that the experimental drug called 'Nanosilver' developed by a Nigerian in diaspora for the treatment of Ebola is questionable.
Despite the experimental drug getting approval for use by the World Health Organization (WHO), the U.S. Food and Drug Administration is claiming that “Nanosilver” is a pesticide. Hmmm is it a pesticide because it doesn’t come from them? Or did Nigeria just accept anything out of desperation? What is the way forward now? I am just saying.

#Ilovenaija: Federal Government fires resident doctors in Teaching Hospitals as Nigeria battles Ebola

Just what Nigeria needs to fight Ebola! I think Johnathan is a genius seriously. He knows just when to do things. A few days ago, I read that Nigerian government was looking for volunteers to help in the fight against Ebola. And they were even offering the volunteers life insurance. Today in the news, they fire, oh sorry, suspend resident doctors in Teaching Hospitals indefinitely. Apparently, the indefinite suspension is supposed to help the Fed Govt “appraise the challenges facing the health sector”. Everything you need to know is in the above letter. #Ilovenaija

Girl shares pic of her dismantled face by so called boyfriend

I will never understand why anyone would do this. Are you kidding me? A South Africa lady has shared her story on twitter about the injuries her so called boyfriend inflicted on her. So called boyfriend indeed! He needs to be locked up because he clearly has issues. I will say this again, ladies, you need to protect yourselves all the time from animals in form of men. Why would someone even do this? Anyway, back to my books before I get more upset.

Experimental drug for Ebola expected to arrive Nigeria today

Finally, good news has arrived and I couldn’t wait to share it! According to reports, the World Health Organization (WHO) has approved the use of an experimental drug called “Nanosilver” for the treatment of the deadly Ebola virus.
The best part of the news is that the drug was developed by a Nigerian in the diaspora and is expected to arrive Nigeria today according to the Minister for Health, Onyebuchi Chuckwu.
I hope the drug works magic so that Nigerians can stop escaping quarantine centers and the spread can stop too.

Remain happy and spread happiness around. Xoxo.

Awww another nurse who had contact with Sawyer dies of Ebola at only 25 years old

25year old Justina Obi Ejelonu, (pictured above) another nurse who attended to late Liberian, Patrick Sawyer, who imported the Ebola virus to Nigeria has been killed by the deadly Ebola virus.
According to Sahara Reporters, her relatives called to inform them of her demise in the early hours of today.
The numbers keep increasing OMG! This situation is really sad. My heart goes out to all her family members and friends. She was just too young to die.

Remain happy and spread happiness around. Xoxo.

Ebola: "Nigerian nurse flees quarantine center in Lagos to Enugu" - Ignorance or survival strategy?

Happy people, I apologise for the long silence. It’s crazy out here. Anyway, I just read about this in the news today and I simply can’t understand how some of us think? According to Sahara Reporters, one of the nurses who had previously had contact with the Liberian Ebola patient, Patrick Sawyer, fled her quarantine center in Lagos and returned to her home in Enugu. Her act led to the exposure of about 20 people who she came in contact with to the deadly virus, increasing the number of people under observation to 198.
It is unfortunate that the fear and ignorance surrounding this virus will increase its spread in Nigeria. It is sad that people can behave this way. I really hope that she tests negative to the virus.
Please remain happy and spread happiness around. Xoxo.

Suspected trainer of Boko Haram female suicide bombers arrested with 16 female suicide bombers

army
It appears that security forces are making head way in the war against Boko Haram. According to reports, a man suspected to be the master trainer of Boko Haram female suicide bombers has been arrested by the Joint Task Force (JTF) in Kano.
He was arrested with 16 females who were reportedly being trained by him for suicide operations.

A security source tells the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the plan of the Islamist militant sect was to continue with the use of female suicide bombers in their attacks on Nigerians (reports DailyPost Nigeria).
I know Boko Haram will be a thing of the past soon and I am patiently waiting for that day.

Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State
Happy people, finally there is good news to share regarding this deadly Ebola virus disease and I just couldn’t wait to share! Johnathan blames "crazy" Sawyer for importing Ebola virus to Nigeria?

The major news everywhere today is president Johnathan’s condemnation of the late Sawyer who preferred to die of Ebola virus disease in Nigeria than Liberia. Here is my favourite part of his speech, “Sawyer that brought this Ebola to Nigeria; his sister died of Ebola. And he started acting somehow, his country asked him not to leave the country, let them observe him, but the crazy man decided to leave and found his way here.” I wish this could remedy the situation. Where was he and others when the outbreak was reported in other parts of West Africa? Oh I remember, they were too busy with election campaigns and Boko Haram to remember that Nigeria was part of West Africa!

Ebola drug given to Spain but not Nigeria?

According to This Day online, the Health Ministry of Spain announced Monday that the ZMapp drug, made by Mapp Biopharmaceutical Inc. of San Diego, was obtained in Geneva this weekend and brought to Madrid to treat Miguel Pajares a priest who tested positive to the Ebola virus in Liberia.
My question is why is Spain allowed to use the drug but Nigeria isn’t? Nigeria also requested for this drug but America publicly refused to give it to them. Does this now imply that some peoples’ lives are more important than some? The excuse was that Africans respond to antibodies differently. Will dualism ever cease to exist in this world? Can we really move past these issues?
I blame the Nigerian government though for not being proactive. Clearly Nigerian leaders need to study Machiavelli to know that a good leader should not lack foresight.
Please remain happy and spread happiness around. Xoxo.

"I killed my wife because I love her" - man says after murdering wife

So apparently, in today's world loving someone means killing the person. In the past weeks, I have read reports about men murdering women over one thing or the other. It is funny that all of them claim they loved the women. I don't know why women have to die for love in this world. How long will men continue to prey on women in the name of love?

Monday inspiration: Life is hard, face it with resilience

“Life is a battle”, my favourite quote from my dad is one thing I never forget. I am always conscious of the fact that life is a battle and that means I must keep fighting. There is no time to give up.
True, as humans we are often hit with difficult moments that force us to contemplate giving up. I have also been there because I am human. In those moments though, the one thing that keeps me going is my knowledge of the fact that life’s challenges are for the brave at heart.
The past weekend has been a tough one for me. I received an amazing news which I would rather share later. As amazing as that news was, it also required a lot from me. I was nervous the entire time and the nerve even affected my ability to think.

Photo of the day: APC supporters celebrate victory in Osun

Wow! I never knew Nigerians were this enthusiastic about elections. I hope this has nothing to do with the odourless FUFU and other food items that were distributed o. If these politicians have supporters like these, why do they in turn forget them when they finally get sworn in? In other news, Ebola is real. Maintain personal hygiene and avoid unnecessary contacts. The spread of Ebola can be stopped if we stay safe.

139 persons placed on surveillance, fresh Ebola cases discovered - FG

God will save Nigeria from Ebola! The number keeps increasing. According to Nigerian Tribune, the Minister of Health, Professor Onyebuchi Chukwu yesterday confirmed two new cases of Ebola infection in Lagos, which now brings the total number of cases recorded in Nigeria to nine. He also announced that 139 people were currently under surveillance.
According to the minister, aside the two fresh cases, there were also six suspected cases which had not been confirmed.
“The total number of cases, as of yesterday morning, (Friday) stands at nine out of which eight are Nigerians and one American-Liberian.
“Out of the nine confirmed cases, seven are alive and are receiving treatment In Lagos,” he said.
It is well o. Please remain happy and spread happiness around. Xoxo

"After Ebola what next?" - Etcetera writes

Ebolaphobia is the new term in town as panic has swept through Nigeria and beyond in the wake of the lethal virus. The campaign has seen so much twists and turns such that the fear of the disease is causing more harm than the disease itself. But from all we have heard and seen in the past few weeks, to doubt the existence of ebola will be the height of stupidity. It is real and it kills and everyone should take all precautionary measures suggested by health organisations.

GEJ approves N1.9b special intervention fund, declares national emergency on Ebola

The president of Nigeria has approved N1.9b special intervention fund to help fight the spread of Ebola virus in Nigeria. Good move Mr President! I hope that this money is put into the right use and not misappropriated. Corrupt people in charge should also have a conscience and know that Ebola affects both the rich and the poor.
They also have to realise that this is not an opportunity to loot funds. This virus would have been prevented from entering the country if only they channeled their energy towards taking preventive measures when they heard about the outbreak in other parts of West Africa. But they seemed to be more concerned with campaigning for election. That is all I have to say.

Shocking: The Liberian man was aware he had Ebola Virus, escaped from Liberia

070814F-Patrick-Sawyer.jpg - 070814F-Patrick-Sawyer.jpg
Happy people, I read about this on twitter yesterday but I didn’t want to believe it. It is the attitude of backward thinkers like these that has caused this Virus to become a terrible problem. Why will a person carry a virus from one country to another? He knew he had Ebola but escaped quarantine to Nigeria because he just had to spread the virus.

Ebola Virus is definitely causing panic everywhere. According to Vanguard, House of Assembly members are protecting themselves by refusing handshakes and also using hand sanitizers. How Ridiculous! The capital of Nigeria is Lagos according to SkyNews

Happy people, SkyNews says the Capital of Nigeria is Lagos. Has it changed without Nigerians knowing? I find this quite laughable you know. The ignorance of some people can be so annoying. What a total lack of interest! As a blogger who is even not close to how popular Skynews is, I try to verify info before I post. Mistake or no mistake, this is unacceptable. In this age, information like the capital of a country is very easy to find. Please make an effort to be informed about Africa; it’s not that difficult, is it? Lagos was the capital of Nigeria ages ago so please get with the times people and stay informed. The media outfit have since corrected the information on their website but I think that is not enough. They need  to apologise too.

Whoopi Goldberg Goes Off on " Stupid " Donald Trump for Ebola Tweets - "...

Ok, so we all know the devastating Ebola virus that has hit
Sierra Leone. Of course one cannot help but applaud the efforts of people from
both off and on the continent that has come in to assist and help stop this
virus. However, in the Americas, someone seems to have taken a very different
stance. Business mogul Donald Trump seems to think that as this is an 'African
virus', it should stay there and people who have gone to Africa should be kept
from coming back to the US so that they won’t infect the poor US population. He
even suggested that a wall be built to keep people out!!!

Photos: 5.5 Magnitude earthquake rocks South Africa, one dead

At least one person was killed and three people injured as a result of a 5.3 magnitude earthquake in Orkney today, Tuesday. The man was killed when a wall of a disused mining building fell on him in the Orkney area of Johannesburg, which is where the quake was centered (reports SA Breaking news).
An earthquake is definitely not a nice experience even though it lasts for only one second. The tremor which lasted for one minute left a lasting impression on people who experienced it as they took to twitter to express their alarm. According to reports, it was also felt in Mozambique and Botswana.

Photo of the day: odourless Fufu VS Votes

Happy people, this has been trending for a while on social media that I'm beginning to think every politician will do this. Is this really working? I call this open bribery and it is only in Nigeria that this happens. What is even the motivation behind this sharing of food stuffs? This it's an insult to Nigerians!
The problem of Nigeria is beyond hunger and as a voter, accepting a bag of rice or fufu that will finish before the guy is sworn in, is a real lack of integrity. How will these food items improve the state of Nigeria and Nigerians? I think Nigerians are more interested in accountability and transparency that this outrage. Your campaign should be a clear structure of what you will do to improve the lives of Nigerians and how you intend to be accountable. Oh well, I don't get involved with politics because talking about it is annoying.
