"We did not win France but we will win the Cup in 2018" - Nigerian fans

The Super Eagles of Nigeria exits the 2014 FIFA World Cup but Nigerian fans are hopeful that they can win the cup in 2018. Great ambition I must say and I am glad we are taking this defeat well. I love Naija! lol

I am so proud of the growth in the Nigerian music industry and the musicians because they are gaining more international recognition for their hard work. I hope that the musicians focus on good and meaningful music and not just commercial music that has no meaning (lips sealed). The American rapper posted the pic on his Facebook page and captioned it "Africa is involved". Indeed!

Keeping The Dream Alive: a Lagos bus conductor takes the lead!

Happy Monday happy people! I hope you all had a great weekend and are all fired up for this day. Here is something to inspire you. I hope you have a great day. Enjoy!
What does Monday mean to you? Does it mean the beginning of another week of slavery? Did you wake up this morning with the feeling that the weekend should have lasted longer? I am sure many people in the world feel the same way that you do. Monday is the first day of activities in a new week and it means you actually have an opportunity to set your dreams in motion, don’t worry too much about that terrible job or boss.

Question of the day: is it wrong for a boyfriend to take care of his girl’s financial needs?

Hmmm! This is a very difficult topic for me to write about briefly but I will try and make my point. So I had this conversation with a male friend who just told me that he broke up with his fiancée because she was too demanding. According to him, the girl wanted him to take care of her financial needs even though she had a job.

Photos from my Lagos party

So I finally got to see Lasgidi city alive last night and my feet are still sore from the party. The fun was simply amazing and the music, wow! I hope you guys are enjoying your weekend and staying out of trouble. Anyway, see photos from the party and enjoy your day (smiling). Remain happy and spread the happiness around. xoxo

Lagos-Ibadan Expressway Accident leaves 6 people dead and leads to Heavy Traffic Jam

I am really trying my best to avoid reporting bad news but I really can’t help this one. If you have any business along the Lagos – Ibadan expressway, you may want to take an alternative route or reschedule because of the serious traffic.
A fatal accident involving multiple vehicles occurred this morning June 27 along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway and has left about six people dead and several others injured.

"We can have oral sex but no penetration"

I have been trying to find inspiration since morning and it is finally here. My post for today is inspired by a story I just read about a girl that is complaining about losing a nice guy she just met because he attempted to rape her (after she allowed him perform oral sex on her). That is the summary of the story. She also narrated how she visited the guy at his house many times and according to her, they always engaged in oral sex each time she was there. She refused penetration, because she is abstaining from sex and saving herself for her husband. I think it is very interesting that a woman makes such a decision and tries to maintain it.

Lagos explosion not a bomb attack but caused by fuel tanker, police say

Thank goodness! I was getting scared already about this explosion. The explosion occurred yesterday in Creek Road, Apapa at about 8pm and some people claimed it was a bomb explosion. However, the Lagos State Police Command says the explosion was caused by a petrol tanker.

Loving the imperfect person perfectly

Today’s story is a beautiful love story I could not help telling because we all need to be reminded of the beautiful side of love. I write in first person narrative so some of these stories are not necessarily mine (not saying this one is or isn't though). Anyway, if you are in love or have ever been in love, this is for you. If you've never been in love, love is a beautiful thing. Enjoy!

It’s a year already and it feels like only yesterday when we just met. I can’t believe we made it this far. It all started with a simple “can we be more than friends?” which he said after we had been just friends for a while. Saying ‘yes’ was the best thing I ever did because this has been the best months of my life.

21 confirmed dead and 17 seriously injured in Emab plaza Bombing

I have tried my best to stay away from publishing any bad news about Nigeria because this blog is for feel good things and not bad news but I really can't help this one because it is really sad. Another bomb blast took place in Emab Plaza, Wuse 2, Abuja this afternoon.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria makes it through to the round of 16 against all odds

The Super Eagles of Nigeria has made it through to the knock out stages of the 2014 FIFA World Cup against all odds (Messi’s magic).

Easy Wednesday: Be inspired because you are alive!

I woke up with a really weird feeling today and I couldn't understand why. I have been feeling really strange. I can't even describe the feeling but now that I am writing this, I feel so much better. It really helps to do the things you love anytime you don't understand yourself. Anyway, I hope you enjoy reading this and if you are going through anything, I hope reading this makes you feel better. Enjoy!
Its midweek already and you haven’t achieved all you set out to achieve for this week. You are not even halfway through them and the week is almost over. You are panicking and going crazy, blaming yourself for not doing all you said you would do.

I love Naija: in my arrogant opinion

Happy people, this story has given me so much concern that I am forced to write about it even though I don't do politics. I think this is worth talking about so here we go...

Guys, please explain this to me, how did a person who is still under trial for corruption get votes talk more of winning an election? I simply don't understand this.

I love Naija: The situation turns almost all of us to 'Professional beggars'

I wanted to write about this sooner but unfortunately, some other things came up because I am alive and that means so many things on my mind at all times. Hmmmm! So I arrived safely

Corruption in Nigeria: are the Citizens as guilty as the government?

I went to the Nigerian immigration office today to renew my passport and here is a brief story of what happened. I got to the gate, and while passing through the security point, I was asked of the reason for my visit and I stated the reason.

Another Bomb Blast in Kano Nigeria? Gosh!

I just read about this now and I really don't know what to say. Vanguard reports about a bomb blast this afternoon around 2 PM at the School of Health Technology located along Gida Murtala–B UK Road in Kano state that has killed scores of people.

The confident woman: 5 easy tips to achieving that

As a lady, low self esteem can drive you nuts and damage you inside and outside. It literally makes you fight with everything around you. If you have ever felt this way, reading and applying these suggestions can give you a helping hand. I hope you enjoy reading this and remember, you are not alone.

  • Nice smell: as a lady, it is very important that you take care of yourself and try your best to smell nice. I personally would give anything to smell nice. Smelling nice doesn’t require expensive designer perfumes, but requires good personal hygiene which starts by taking a bath at least twice a day for a lady.

Nigerians and their love-hate relationship with Super Eagles

'Go super eagles', 'up super eagles', 'I love super eagles' - these are just a few of all the praises that Nigerians are raining on the super eagles following their 1-0 win over Bosnia & Herzegovina in the 2014 FIFA World Cup group F match last night, 21/06/2014.

He was a true gentleman but I am not emotionally ready

My sincere apologies to all you my dear readers for the long silence, I have been trying to settle down and though I am not fully settled, I just could not wait to share this interesting story with you all. It is true that as women, we tend to be so protective of ourselves that we are often afraid to give a great guy a chance. If you've ever been there, you are not alone. I hope you enjoy reading this piece and give it a second thought...

It was the way he looked at me, his eyes couldn’t stop stealing glances at me at every opportunity that he had. I noticed it but pretended like I didn’t and concentrated on the book I was reading or pretending to read. You cannot blame me; I am only a lady and what can I do than to keep being a lady. We played ‘the stealing glances’ game for a while until I fell asleep. Yes I was tired and it was going to be a long flight from the South to the West so I had to sleep.

My 'aha' moment at O. R. Tambo airport- no Nigerian airways

I got to the airport too early for my flight and you know what that means - a lot of time to wonder about and look around too. One thing that got me thinking was all the different airlines I saw. I also realised that in an international airport like this one, I couldn't find Nigerian airways and that really got me wondering about why we don't have a National carrier. Seriously guys what happened to Nigerian airways? I am seeing all these other airlines like Malawian air, Kenya airways, etc. and there is no Nigerian Airways. Oh! Maybe they don't fly to South Africa lol. I love my great country Nigeria and I am proudly Naija. Enjoy the rest of your day people. You will hear from me as soon as I get to my destination and settle in. Remain happy and spread happiness. Xoxo

How to make a good first impression on a lady on Facebook.

I have decided to write about this because of what has been happening to me lately. To all my Facebook friends that will read this, I don’t mean any disrespect but I want us to improve our conversations.

I log on to Facebook and I am notified about a new friend request, I check out the profile of the person, and then accept the friend request. I don’t have a problem with that because

Why you should drink a cup of green tea everyday

I hope you all are enjoying your week and staying healthy. Anyway, here are my special tips on how to remain healthy. I found it to be very effective and I am referring to the wonders of green tea. You will never understand what I mean until you try drinking a cup. Give it a try and let me know how it turned out. Enjoy....
Health benefits of Green Tea

  • Green tea helps with weight loss. It actually increases the metabolism. The polyphenol which is found in green tea works to intensify the levels of fat oxidation. It also intensifies the rate at which your body turns food into calories.

How to know if he is wasting your time or not

It is important that when we are searching for the right person, we don't settle for just anyone. I have decided to share these signs that always seem to be found in guys who turn out to be a total waste of time. Enjoy reading it and note the signs so you can run when you recognize it in men..

8 signs he is wasting your time

  1. He tells you ‘I love you’ too much: Ok, I know every girl wants to hear that and that’s just fine. But if he tells you he loves you too much, you know like those ones that say it 100 times a day – chances are, they don’t mean it and they are just using that to get their way.

HUB Exclusive - A tribute to the South African youths of 1976 and beyond for standing for something

Youth is the time to define who you are as an individual and it is important to stand for something in order not to fall for everything. Today's post is a special tribute to the youths who against all odds take a stand against injustice just like the South African youths of 1976. Enjoy!

Stand for Something or Fall For everything – Your Choice

On the morning of 16 June 1976, between 10,000 and 20,000 black students walked from their schools to Orlando Stadium for a rally to protest against having to learn through Afrikaans in school.  Many students who later participated in the protest arrived at school that morning without prior knowledge of the protest, yet agreed to become involved. The protest was planned by the Soweto Students' Representative Council's (SSRC) Action Committee, with support from the wider Black Consciousness Movement.

The "bear is loose" declares President Obama as he breaks out of the White House bubble

President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama, are greeted on the tarmac by Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., second from left, and her husband Stewart Boxer, left, as they arrive on Friday, June 13, 2014, in Palm Springs, Calif. (AP Photo/Manuel Balce Ceneta)

The US president, Barack Obama, took a long Father's Day weekend away with his wife and older daughter. His visit to the desert resort area of Palm Springs is one of the ways Obama has been trying to escape during his sixth year cloistered in the White House.
The president surely deserves a break from all the crisis around him, after all, he is only human and can only do his best. Happy Father's day to him.
Remain happy and spread happiness around. xoxo

In the spirit of father's day - A daughter's ODE to her Father.

We often tend to forget or ignore the roles of fathers in our lives because the role of mothers overshadows them. Fathers are often regarded as being just sperm donors, although some of them embody that (tongue out). Anyway, they still play important roles besides being sperm donors and I am sure most of us share the sentiments of this daughter. Happy father's day. Someone sent me this to share. Enjoy....

An ODE to My Father
My Father was born in Umuakagu Nsu, Ehime Mbano
Local Govt. Area of IMO State, to the Nwaneho Amucha- Dimagu family. He grew up with his mother, father and five siblings. My father went to school in Imo state but gave up his education for his siblings to progress academically.
My father grew up in a Nigeria were his parents had little which in turn exposed him to aspire for little but that didn't stop him from trying to succeed amidst his adversities.
My father is passionate. My father is kind. My father is humble, sincere and nice. He might have a battalion of kids, as we are five in number but he is the father of all nations, with a very big heart.
I'm not going to lie, my father's upbringing has a great effect on the way he views the world and he has very strong opinions towards our dreams and aspirations, which we don't always agree with.
But my father made me, and from my father I inherit the belief for compassion. From my father, I inherit the conviction for humility and passion. From my father, I inherit the condemnation for anger. From my father, I possess indignation for iniquity. From my father, I am intrinsic with a spirit of tenacity and forgiveness. From my father, I am compelled to be assiduous. From my father, I have become resilient and conscientious. From my father I have learned to be accountable for my actions and transgressions. From my father, I am driven and motivated to succeed. From my father, failure is never an option. I AM MY FATHER's DAUGHTER.
And although you have no male off springs to take over your name, we see through your eyes that we your daughter's are enough. And we would continue to grow and infect the world with your exemplary qualities. We would strive to surpass your achievements. We would grow to inspire generations to know that our DREAMS are LIMITLESS, that our DREAMS are BOUNDLESS, and that our DREAMS are ACHIEVABLE. And so on this Father’s Day, as we celebrate Our Father and all Fathers all over the world, we embrace your strength, we embrace your unconditional love to us and we embrace your unwavering devotion to our emotions and upbringing even when the means aren't enough.

HAPPY FATHERS DAY

How to Prevent a Hangover - Before and after

No one wants to go out and have a good time just to pay for it the morning after with a bad time of having to deal with headaches and nausea or even vomiting. The feeling is terrible. I personally stay away from drinking because I can’t deal with the hangover but I know that not everyone is like me so here is how to prevent that terrible feeling in the morning after having a great time with the tequilas and others.

HUB's exclusive - A tribute to the late Kefee

This is really sad news and my heart goes out to her family for a life cut short by unfortunate circumstance. Death is inevitable and that is why it is important for us to think about how we want to be remembered after we are gone. Here is a special tribute to kefee written by Sammie Tosin...
The late Kefee
One Step in a much Greater Journey......
The word 'loss' itself signifies the absence of something so dear that nothing else in the world can replace. The loss of a dear one's life brings feelings of emptiness and loneliness that seem to never cease. If the loss is that of a person we lived with, then moving on seems next to impossible. Every little thing reminds us of them. The empty chair in the dining hall, the daily habit to go with them for drives, or to ask for their suggestion when in a dilemma.

JUST WHEN YOU THINK YOU KNOW

You know how you are with that one person and he makes you feel so safe and on top of the world and then you are left to come crashing to pieces? That is just one way to describe the story narrated in this article. Love should never hurt anyone and men, if you love her, you shouldn't think of cheating on her. No one deserves to go through that heartache. Enjoy...
How Well Do YOU Know Your Partner?

I just found out he has been busy behind my back while I am going around clueless and telling everyone who cares to listen that he is the best man in the world. I am sitting there and having myriads of emotions driving me crazy. I don’t know if I should be angry, sad or happy but I know one thing, I love him so much and thinking about it hurts.

Why being friends with your ex is unhealthy

When you meet someone, you depend so much on the person and losing that person becomes difficult to deal with. I am being real now, why should I be friends with someone who is my ex. He clearly gained that status for a reason and no one should forget that. It is mid-week and I thought to give you my lovely opinion on relationship. I hope you enjoy reading this people and no, I ain’t perfect but I try my best lol...

An Ex is an Ex for a Reason
Have you found yourself separated from a partner but you can’t simply move on? Are you still calling up that ex and stalking him on social media just because you can’t get over him even though he treated you so badly? You are probably telling yourself that he still loves you and will always do. If you feel this way, don’t be ashamed of it because you are not alone.

Don't be defined by your past

We all have those moments in life where that little voice in our heads tells us that we can't do it. Just like the woman in this picture, getting rid of that voice makes you feel free and happy. This article is for your reading pleasure. Enjoy!
Go forward or stand still rather than go backwards
I am one person who strongly believes that where I am coming from has nothing to do with where I am headed in life. And by that I mean that my past has nothing to do with my present or future. Few days ago I had an interesting conversation with this young boy and the things he told me were both sad and inspiring. Mistakes in life are inevitable and there are things that we simply cannot change.

The sunset - Beauty in nature

The night falls, the day comes to an end and it's time to lay our heads and sleep. But hold on a second, maybe you should actually take stock of the day and see how it went and how you can improve your tomorrow. Was the day productive? Did it go according to plan? Did you achieve all that you set out to do? Maybe you did achieve some and it didn't go that bad and that makes you happy so you can sleep easy.

Thank God it's Friday let's escape into the music with the right attitude. Enjoy your weekend guys.

“Thank God is Friday!” (TGIF)

Thank God it’s Friday! I can’t wait to get out of the office. I have been wondering all my life why people always thank God it’s Friday. It’s the feeling of wanting to escape to a place of refuge from all the hustles of life. It’s that feeling about wanting to breathe and unwind after all the hard work of the week. It’s ok to want that, but if it’s about escaping from a normal life of work or study then that could be a problem you may want to address.

We all need to feel loved and to love someone. Read and be inspired to do it right.

“It’s your loss not mine”
Sometime ago I met a guy who I thought was really wonderful and nice. I loved the way he made me feel, the way he made me laugh each time we were together. In that moment I imagined him as my life partner, I dreamt of growing old with him and having his babies. I really thought that we would last forever. I don’t know why I entertained all those thoughts because he used every opportunity that he had to tell me that those weren’t his dreams and he was as blunt as possible. I guess it is one of those things that we do when we are living in the moment, we often fail to recognise the signs even though they are clear enough and we do this because we just want what we want.
