Is this a joke or what? According to reports, at least two
people are feared dead, while 20 others are being hospitalised in various
hospitals in Plateau State after consuming excessive quantity of salt and
bitter kola to prevent Ebola Virus Disease.
This Day Newspaper reports that the two who were rushed to
the hospital by family members, collapsed in the morning after consuming too
much salt overnight. They later died of high blood pressure in the hospital.
Oh dear! Ignorance will keep killing people in this world.
Since the discovery of this virus, Nigerians have come up with all sorts of
things as cure and it’s simply appalling. How does salt and bitter kola even
cure a virus? Guys please let’s stop spreading harmful rumours about treatment
and risking people’s lives. The latest news is that people are running to
church for cure. It’s terrible how we use religion to delude ourselves as Nigerians.
Salt, bitter kola, deliverance has not been proven to be the cure for Ebola
virus. Please stay safe and prevent the spread.
