Johnathan blames "crazy" Sawyer for importing Ebola virus to Nigeria?

The major news everywhere today is president Johnathan’s condemnation of the late Sawyer who preferred to die of Ebola virus disease in Nigeria than Liberia. Here is my favourite part of his speech, “Sawyer that brought this Ebola to Nigeria; his sister died of Ebola. And he started acting somehow, his country asked him not to leave the country, let them observe him, but the crazy man decided to leave and found his way here.” I wish this could remedy the situation. Where was he and others when the outbreak was reported in other parts of West Africa? Oh I remember, they were too busy with election campaigns and Boko Haram to remember that Nigeria was part of West Africa!

This whole Patrick Sawyer’s story has many loose ends. First, he was in Nigeria on official assignment as a diplomat. Second, he was under watch in Liberia and was not allowed to travel. How the hell did he exit Liberia when he was under surveillance without Liberian officials knowing? The third story I read this evening is that he was furious with the doctors for suggesting he may have been infected with Ebola virus and asked to leave the hospital. The Liberian Ambassador even tried to influence the doctors so he is discharged from the hospital. Hmm something is not adding up here and this story is not plausible. If he was under surveillance as Liberian government claims, how come the embassy didn’t have this information?
We can keep going on about how sinister the late Sawyer was but we still cannot change the fact that Ebola virus found its way to Nigeria somehow and when no one was watching. Nigerians are still afraid of testing for HIV, how will they report to the hospital even when they have this virus? How and where will Nigeria begin the search for Ebola virus in order to contain it? As ignorant as some people are, they will rather die in their houses than seek medical care. Early detection is the key to survival guys. God help Nigeria!
Please remain happy and spread happiness around. Xoxo
