Shocking: Woman set on fire in Nigeria for giving birth to only girls?

This is simply unbelievable! I just read about this now online. Apparently, a woman in Ebonyi state was set on fire for giving birth to girls only. I can't believe things like these still happen in this century where everyone should know that a woman has nothing to do with the sex of a baby.

The husband identified as Paul Nwakpuke is suspected of being behind a group of hired assassins who set his wife, Monica Nwakpuke on fire for not giving birth to boys.

 “Another source who pleaded anonymity said that Monica was brought down from the motorcycle, stripped naked and blindfolded after which they poured fuel on her and set her ablaze,” dailyindependentnig.com wrote.

Reports claim that the woman had left her marital home to her parents' home in an attempt to avoid countless fights with her husband over her inability to bear a male child. The husband is currently on the run.

I am enraged by this. Like seriously, why is this still happening today? I thought with civilization and enlightenment, we had moved pass the era where men blamed women for the sex of a child. I thought that by now all men are fully aware that they get whatever they put in a woman. But clearly, a lot of men are still living in the past and this is so sad. I hope that the people involved in this shameful act are made to face the consequences of their actions.
